If you NEED a car and your new car breaks down, use the Seat Assissatance to take the car to the dealership ratehr than limp it yourself, as a courtesy car comes with Seat Assistance (they'll take you to the nearest enterprise car hire and get you one), if you dont use them, you cant get one retrospectively

never knew that :D

cheers for the info mate.

Just an update guys, i called the main dealers this morning to see if they had found the fault. The bloke i spoke to was straight forward & didnt fob me off by saying that they are still running tests as instructed by Seat. He told me that this is the first Bocanegra that they have had in & basically they cant find the fault.

I asked him what work has been done on the car? he told me that the ecu has been updated twice aswell as the fuel pump as been changed. he asked weather the car has been remapped, i told him the engine is totally standard.

I also told him that there was a similar problem with a ibiza fr on this site & the problem was the spark plugs. He said he would pass the info on to he techie.:cry::cry:

Got a call from the main dealers today, they changed the spark plugs & took the car for a long road test. The bloke said that the car did not fault at all. Im going there in about 10 min, so hopfully it has cured the problem.

I would have gone mental[:@] if they tried to charge because the car is just over 6 month old, u cant expect the spark plugs to go that quick!

I think the most annoying thing with the main dealer was that I had to ring every afternoon for an update on my car. But at least its back out now & 'touch wood' It doesn't breakdown on me again!

I dont know if its me or not, because ive not driven the car for nearly a week but my bocanegra seems to be Wrapid, its realy smooth in gear changes & when i put my foot down the power is instant, not like before when it felt like the car dropped a gear before shooting off.

the main dealer did say they did 2 updates on the ecu, I wonder wether this is the reason the car drives like a dream.

Meybe Techie might have the answer?

Good job! I have been given a 1.4 Ibiza Sport as a curtesy car and it might as well be a 1.0 ...no ooomph in it at all. Can't wait to get mine back. I am just hoping that I will not have any other bother or problems with it...otherwise I will be chopping it and going back to Renault!

well hope u get it sorted mate, iv had pretty much no end of trouble with mine aswell its now done around 4500miles but has used over 5L of oil yet the dealers deem this perfectly normal, just waiting for mine to go pop one day as this sort of oil consumption as far as im concerned isnt normal by any stretch no matter what car you drive, also i think its got a knackered cat as there was oil coming out of the exhaust.
P.S has anyones car got a black sooty exhaust because from pretty much day 1 mine seems to have had 1.

mmmm are you sure the turbo seals haven't gone by any chance? that sounds like a lot of oil, I am almost at 3000 miles and only used 500ml oil mate.............................

Get your turbo checked mate mine was doing that just had it sorted 2 weeks ago. They also did the super charger as well. No more chirping noises and smooth power delivery, I got through 4 litres of oil in 3000 miles

Take it somewhere else if your local dealers just want to bury their heads in the sand about it.
Whereabouts aere you based, im sure there'll be someone here near you who can recommend a more helpful dealership

Try to find another dealership. Probably best. My dealer acknowledged there was a problem straight away, asked me to check levels until they could get it in for the jedi master tech to have a look at it. Worked their magic and its fine now. Seriously badger them over this. That kind of attitude is not acceptable.

Hi guys i'm a new user here at cupra.net. I was searching for a forum that had to do with technical problems concerning the 1.4 tsi engine. My car is a bocanegra 1.4 turbo/supercharged 150hp.
Recently i've been hearing sounds after turning the car on. Other than that the car started handling diffrenty. It seems to be slipping more. I asked a motor pro at VW and he said it may be a problem with the megatronic. Im taking it to the workshop to get it checked. Hopefully i'll be able to get an explenation of whats going on. I've had the car for a year now and rode 18k KM. and btw any suggestions or comments from ppl with this common problem would be helpful. Thanks.
