I think * i may need correcting * that you can use the Cupra R front subframe, it has different geometry that may sharpen the handling although not sure if there's fitting issues with other stuff but seeing as you have the car there ... it might be worth checking just how much you can use.

If the other one is a runner, shove your old bits onto it and punt it on as a wolf in sheeps clothing?

yea its alot cheaper buying the cupra r complete and scraping it, the front brakes alone would cost u £400 !! considering i only paid £1700 for the car i should b doing alright outof it as i can rob the bits i want sell the rest and still make a profit :)

ill av to look into the subframe mate thanks for the advice :)

and to get the pics onto the page uve gota log onto photobucket.com and upload them from ur comp to ther, then copy the http thing (its the bottom number on the photo) and then copy and paste it onto ur comments page and then the pics will come up :)

and yes these wheels dont like potholes esp considering ive only got 215/35/19 tyres on them, tis abit hard

hope that makes sence and helps u mate

thanks for the advice guys keep it coming :)

been a bit slow modding the leon atm, just started a new job etc
ordered a set of porsche 4 pot calipers for the front of the car so just waiting for them to come, also brought a upper strut brace and a full set of hel braided brake hoses so theyll be fitted soon.
pics will be on soon

Nice car, just same as mine was.

Some modifications are not valid though.

A induction kit won't let you hear any recirculation valve noises. That's because this engine has none ;-)

This and also the Milltek system won't gain any horsepower.
Horsepower come from injection quantity and airmass to burn it. This is programmed and limited in ECU. Changing an good OEM cold air intake for a induction kit which is no more a CAI is more "detuning" than tuning, you would be better of using R32 DSG airbox and intake snorkel or just leave it stock.

Your gains are more psychological related, more sound = must be faster. Test it against the clock, you won't see a gain...

Going for any modified turbo is useless as long as you keep stock injectors. Those have their physical and also safe tuning limit at about 180-185bhp, companys advertising 200+bhp with remap only on this engine = more or less BS....even if you have a thousand "supporting mods" done to your hardware :-(

Regards Alex

These have just turned up today

cant wait to get them fitted, it feels like im driving a monster truck !!

Got exactly the same coilovers as me mate, from the same place! I've done the allard egr removal as well and got their intercooler pipes, plus milltek decat exhaust kit so reading your thread is brilliant. Plus I am also considering hybrid turbo!

I've had mine mapped on the standard clutch and at the moment (touch wood) it's doing ok but am also looking at a performance clutch so will be keeping a close eye on this thread to see what you go for!
