i was astonished at the power of the car.
i was expecting it to be fast but i never felt torque like it
put a smile on my face
recive a phone call tomorrow about negotiating a deal

i noticed that the front bumper didnt line up with the lights very well, possible sign of a front end damage at some point
the car is hpi clear as it is from a seat dealer
they want £9495 (54 plate) 29600miles, flash red, 2 keepers, oh and the front bumper colour match isnt great so anyone know what sort of price i could haggle for???

9,200 Realistically. Start off with 9,150, and if they say no. Leave your phone number and drive away. Expect a phone call by the end of the day :D

You could almost pick up a 150 for that kind of money, maybe a little bit more.

Gota love the diesel power though

this is a seat dealership though so prices will be high, and as for the 150 i'd love one but i can't get quoted on one but after driving the 130 its plenty of power for me and a re-mapp 170bhp should be fun

i think they are going to offer me about 3.5-3.7 for my golf part ex so try and haggle them to £9000 for theres
apart from the issue with the bumper alignment and colour the car is sound, drives really well can't fault it

I have a 130TDI SE and love it. i looked at the FR but I carry kayaks, boats and loads of kit and thought that the lower skirts etc were simply a reciepe for disaster.

After 1 years ownership and seeing a 150 bottom out whilst only carrying one kayak i am happy with the choice.

I also believe that the SE has all the toys of the 150 plus more.

I have the petrol SE, and paid 9k for it nearly two years ago, so 9.5k sounds a lot, even though the diesel commands a premium over the petrol version - haggling is definitely in order!

Have to agree with Carrp too, its got all the toys the FRs/Cupras have, except electric seats (which I think only came with the leather upholstery... might be wrong though)

Also, my car is Emocion red, not Flash red, I think they changed the colours in 2003/4 so maybe your bumper was (re)sprayed the wrong shade? I believe Emocion is a tad darker, could explain the mis-match...

The different colour red could simply be down to colour fade. VAG red is known to fade differently on different surfaces, so as the bumper is plastic it's entirely possible it's simply faded slower than the rest of the car. That was certainly (part of) the case with my Ovni LCR.

quick update, the car is now mine, £9200 inc £3500 part ex my golf
that includes a service and all usual main dealer warrenty and assistance etc....
the are going to re-spray the bumper and get the bodyshop to re-align everything.
if you look on the seat approved used website you'll see that these cars are up for £9000 up to £10495 so i think i got a fairly good deal
i know i have payed more than book price but it is a franchised dealer
i look forward to becoming a regular on here now
and many miles of happy driving

You may have been able to find a similar car cheaper at another dealer, but if the service they provide is good and you have peace of mind in knowing that in the event of a problem, they wont shaft you, then that little extra money is worth every penny.

Value for money doesn't always equal cheapest ;)

Anyhow... glad it's all yours :D When do you get your mits on it?

Good stuff :D Will seem like forever until Sat arrives now though.

Are you interested in modifying it at all? Or is it staying standard?

Welcome and I hope you like it. As for bad things about 150 engines I am not so sure. I have had two dervs now, 110 bhp and 150 bhp. Both have been superb and reliable.

It wasn't just the 150 engine, it was all the 1.9 PD TDis including 100, 105, 115, 130 and 150. The piezo diesel injectors are operated by 4 metal lobes on the single camshaft. These can wear down and fail to operate the injectors properly. The only cure is to fit a new camshaft, big job, big money.

As said the insurance for wheels and remaps etc will push the insurance up a massive amount, if it were me id have gone for a 150 you dont need to do anything to it. If i got the 130 i would just leave it stock, going to cost a bomb to put wheels and remap plus getting trim sprayed, dropping it, diff grill, wouldnt bother with wing mirrors i think the silver looks weird. Just had mine sprayed same colour as the car.
