Hi guys

I'm interested in getting my Leon TDi Terracleaned. It's a '59 Leon FR 2.0 CR. I've heard good things about it and as my car has done around 95k miles I'm thinking it'll be beneficial, I'm wondering if anyone has done it to theirs regardless of engine type.

Get it done. I had mine done on an 07 plate ref sport tdi with only 30k on the clock and it was noticeably smoother quieter and nippier. I also gained a few extra mpg. My partner had her petrol car done at the same time and hers what better too. Diesels benefit more especially with higher mileage.
I paid £95 for mine, it is as they say a drive away difference. I will get It done every 4 or years now

+1 for having it done, my girlfriend had her mk5 golf gti done a couple of weeks ago and certainly made it easier to start a lot less lumpy on idle and more eager through the revs. Hers was quite dear as she had the special tfsi system clean on the intense setting and the fuel system done. She is so happy with the results.

Streetbeef, please dont take this the wrong way as im only trying to protect people rather than discredit anything you say, but that doesnt seem quite right.

I'm not sure if there have been any new developments with regards to this so I may be wrong but as far as I was aware there is only one setting with terraclean, so I would research this and ensure you don't get ripped off.

It is different for petrol and diesel but basically just cleans the fuel system and injectors and normally involves one can of chemicals into the fuel line to break everything down and the other to flush it all out via the return.

As such I don't know how there is more than one setting as the car just runs on the can of chemicals until its all gone then the second can flushes everything out. Once they've finished that's it. It normally takes between 50-90 min depending on the car and how easy it is to access the fuel lines in the first place.

I dont think there is any other way to do that if It makes sense.

Here is a pic of one of the machines and the cans, and also my tdi hooked up to the fuel lines.

Google Ed China terraclean if you are unsure of everything and im sure you'll see everything you need. There is an episode of wheeler dealers that he uses it on a jag which will explain it all. By the way I think there is one machine for diesel and a different for petrol.

My understanding is that Terraclean was originally designed as a replacement fuel and underwent years of testing and research. In the end it turned out to be too expensive so was not feasible. However during the testing they discovered that the engines it was used on were all being cleaned by the product so it was re engineered to be the cleaning solution it is now. As a result It is guaranteed to work, how much just depends on the state of the individuals car in the first place.

stu3y, I don't take it the wrong way, we did loads of research before having it done and explained to the guy that did the terraclean what car she had and even he pointed out that it was a slightly different treatment/way it is done on the vw tsi petrol engine. im only going by what he said. might be worth if someone phone up a terraclean dealer and confirmed? either way she was happy with the results and noticeable changed the way the car ran, it was so much better, prior to this we changed the pcv as a precaution for the poor idling and nothing happened but after the treatment it was lovely and smooth. At the end of the day everyone is entitled to their opinion and that's fine. :)

I was skeptical at 1st but someone from work had a Toyota Yaris, I think it was like a 1.3 or something. It had a few problems with it and was running really poor, but the mechanic recommended terraclean and it worked a treat on his fixing all the problems and improving general engine performance back to original

Im still very sceptical about terraclean.

think id rather pay for WMI on the tfsi.
Don't be, it proven to work. Obviously wmi will give you the long term solution however a terraclean will do what you want it to short term and it's only around 100. So maybe terraclean followed by wmi would be the perfect solution.

The results are always good. As i said there may have been new developments but I was just concerned someone over sold it to make you pay more. Having looked at the link from Mike it's seems that may be what you had so all is good
