My temp gauage keeps dropping of to nothing then rising up to half way again. Ive replaced the green four pin sender but its still doing it!!
What do we reckon a new thermostat required?

The climate panel reads 90 when up to its running temp even when the gauage is dropping off . Anybody had a faulty gauage before??

A genuine one can be faulty too.

To try a new dash gauge is a new dash and pairing up to the ECU via vag com/ keys pairing up.

Can't be thermostat as it is holding 90 deg.

Done this as well, but no faults. Might try a new stat just for good measure for what they cost. Ive noiticed the heater gets really hot when left idle and gets abit cooler when your driving.

yea it is but apart from temp senders and thermostats nobody else seems to have any problems with the temp gauage.

mines doing same as yours mate. climate control reads 90 but dash clock sometimes bounces for 90 to 60 then half way thenback to 90.

Was hopping it was gonna be sensor but looks like the climate control reading correct temps as always.

What else could I be looking at

Oh....mine only seems to do it once its warming up, once its been running more than about 15mins and the coolant is actually about 90 it stays there and doesn't move.

I bought new green sensor last week, went to fit it at weekend and I already had a green one fitted.........I will get round to fitting it anyway but its under my intercooler pipe.

Can't think what else would cause it?

mines was green replaced with oe green does same thing. the fact that the climate control temps is working correctly im not to worries as the sensor seems to be working as it should its just the dash temp guage. im guessing the signals gets converted for digital to analogue so the dash clock works. maybe thats brokens?
