I have been having a problem for some while and think i really need to sort it as seems to be getting worse.

when my car is cold and start it up the light and beeb will come on on temp gauge on dials.. this will flash for abit then stop.. and recently on some occasions has gone on agen for a brief time when the temp has got to about 70.

From reading on here i know people do sometimes have problems when the sensor gets grimey etc.. had a look at the prongs in the water and they clear as anything.

Do i need to replace the whole unit?

Also recently been getting a weird kind of screeching kinda noise on start up for a brief while. Someone said water pump?

Just wondering what people think if anyone got any tips or ideas.

Or just best to replace sensor and go from there.

Cheers.

Mine does the same thing... well - not the screeching, but when I start it up the warning light beeps. Just need to replace the tank as the sensor is built in. Had the part priced at the dealers - £11

Err no sorry. Just called SEAT near you and ask for a replacement Coolant sensor and bottle. Basically its the whole bottle that you fill/check as the sensor is built in. you might be able to find the part yourself on www.vagcat.com in the CATALOG section. But i'd just ask them - it's only £11 and they're meant to know what they're on about lol
