Anyone know if just the sensor pad on the rain sensor needs replacing or bigger issue?

Recently while I was driving in the rain I noticed the automatic wipers being inconsistent. I then checked the rain sensor which seems to show a small crack, so wanted to ask if anyone knows whether the gel pad needs replacing or if the actual sensor has been damaged.

As in change the whole sensor or just the gel pad between the sensor and windscreen?

I have changed the post. I had the same thing in an Octavia 3 VFL. I swapped both and everything worked fine. Then adjust the coding again.

I can find the gel pad online but not too sure on the process i.e. taking out the old and fitting new one, I can't see any videos online on how to do so, are you aware of any videos/guides for this?

90% of the time the pad sticks to the sensor. That is my experience

That should be the easy part I hope, but it's just in terms of removing the sensor to be able to do that I can't find a guide on.
