I have a Touran 1.9 TDI PD 105, when I got it, on a run to work (40 miles down the A4) I could get up to 62 mpg indicated using the cruise control set at 60 (yes I slowed down in towns and generally stuck to the speed limit so I wasnt going overboard on the granny fashion driving).
Since then the 185/65/15's have been ditched for a good old set of TT copy's 225/40/18's. Doing the same trip has now brought it down to around 48 mpg and its still only got 20k on the clock.
Point is its not just the engine which is going to cost you in fuel but having said that a 150bhp re-map from Celtic tuning is planned next. £355 pound and they come to you.

Cant wait to get my Leon FR TDI in Yellow.....doesn't arrive till June.....whats that all about....they obviously don't understand the kind of torture in making people wait that long for a car.

Hi there woodyTDI,

I don't know if this is any good to you but I am an authorised Chipped UK dealer and we are about to have a remapping day down in Rayleigh (Essex) on May5th Sat 2007. On the day we are remapping cars for £250 all in. The file and results you would get are identical to what you would get from ChippedUK as they modify the files for us and all our files are custom written for each car via mobile internet.

On the day we are also running a prize draw (providing we get 10 cars or more) to win a top quality HID kit worth £160. For more info please email me at [email protected]

Oh and yes the reason why remaps are so expensive is that all the background costs are astronomical. If people realised how much it actually costs to get up and running and the cost of running this type of thing and try to get some profit out of it, they would see its a very good value for money mod. Also the most cost effective BHP for the Pound upgrade you can get for a forced induction vehicle.

Well my 100 PD sport has got the forge motorsport FMIC, Green cotton filter ,PD intake and a remap.

And I can say that the fuel consumption has decreased significantly much better on fuel since having it done .

it's a 55 plate with 40K on it now and goes like stink !
