Tdi 110 Fuel filter problems.

I have found that my 110TDI is very sensitive to fuel filters, put on a cheap one and you get, almost flat spots at peak torque points in gears, Halfords filters are a no no. Coopers are great. car drives completely differently smoother power right up through the rev range. Anyone else found this problem. (By the way my 99 model has been well looked after and god this car still feels like new, last car I had felt this tight after 80,000 was a merc)

ive always had the dealer do the fuel filter on my 110 and never had any probs. interesting your findings though.

I've never used anything besides the OE bosch filter so I can't really comment. Does seem a bit strange though, unless the filter is really restrictive.
