Tailgate Replacement Cost

My daughters 1.6 Leon has had someone damage the tailgate. Someone backed a 4X4 into it. It will need a new tailgate as it is creased. all locks and lights work and Glass is undamaged so can be re-used. Anyone know roughly how much this repair would cost including painting (met Black). Also how long would it take as we will have to arrange a hire car as well.

On most new cars, a window has to be cut out and can't be reused. Maybe the glue which holds it in can be melted, I don't know...

shouldnt it cost nothing on the 4x4 driver's insurance since they backed into it??
