I found a good improvement when i changed my hoses. Boost seems alot stronger and sustained better as well.

Did my t.i.p 2 weeks ago and its feels stronger in the mid/top of the rev range and i feel it has better throttle resposne ,but you should have seen the state of the one i took off !!.money well spent in my book as it was on the point of failure plus i found i split in the y pipe on the oil breather system so i bought the upgraded pipe from vw bristol as the had it in stock.

I did quite a bit of research into this and I think it's worthwhile when you remap your car - much in the same way that you change your bosch dv for the forge one. I think they are the two weak points in the system and being in front of the turbo are under quite a lot of stress when the boost is increased.

the hoses on the car are probably ok when new but for a remaped car with a few miles id defiantly go for one, they standard ones can collapse under high boost and try and suck into the turbo, closing up the air flow gap and loosing power... better turbo spool up sound, free flowing and wont collapse at high boost.+ the standard ones are like made out of chocolate cake.
And the general concensus is that the other hoses are pretty much ok and only need replacing if they split at some point in the future.
That would make sense but I think it would still perish over time so would need changing at some point. Just get your VAG tuner to feel each time you're in for a service or whatever...
when you say other hoses do you mean just general little hoses or for eg upper boost hoses aswell. I was thinking off changing these soon now that i have had the car remapped but i'll hold off a bit if i can
I haven't heard a compelling reason to change any of the other hoses so I'll just being doing the TIP.
cool, mines done so i'll leave the hoses be for now and fart around with the others if i have to or when other more important mods are finished 
I found a difference when i changed my upper intercooler hoses as well, boost felt like it came in much stronger.

Dont forget about the little high temp elbow off the turbo too, some people off here had them fail.
I am still running standard map and have last piece of boost piping on order.
