Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you guys noticed the same engine behaviour as I do with my 130tdi cordoba 2006 14k miles.

With the car in neutral, very slowly increase the revs, at about 2000rpm i can hear the turbo whistling when it gets to about 2100rpm with the foot held steady the revs oscilate a little maybe by about 25rpm.

increasing the revs slowly till 3000rpm the turbo whistle just stops and there is no sign of it after that. (it just switches off)

Is this normal behaviour for the 130tdi?

Any comments greatly appreciated.

I noticed that if I slowly increase the revs on mine, when you get to 2000rpm (I think), the engine kind of feels unsteady, and then jumps up by a few hundred rpm. From what other people said, this seemed to be normal.

With regards to the turbo whistle. Under idle, you'll never really get the turbo to do any work, the engine would have to be under load for that to happen.
You'll hear a light whistle but it probably just gets drowned out by the general engine noise as revs increase.

All in all, doesn't sound like anything is wrong !
