If its an ATP kit then it can but I dont think it is so no. You wont get that power if it is an ATP kit and if its not then you need quite a few other parts. Infact if it is an ATP kit then you still need quite alot of other parts.

Speak to Bill, Backdraft, Jabba etc if you want that power.

Definately an ATP "eliminator"

The turbo will fit with not a huge amount of hassle in that configuration. It is designed to fit to the standard manifold (a higher flowing item would be better) and downpipe but you'll need supporting mods to extract the full power quoted. ie, injectors, fmic etc.

The K04 fitment seems to be better than the k03 type. K03 type has issues with lag. Turbine wheel might choke the compressor as I've seen about 320bhp from one of these rather than what the GT2871r would normally reach with the original garrett turbine. Do a search on vwvortex.com. Bound to be more there.

I cannot see how the k04 type manifold can support airflows fo rthe claimed horsepower. The port runners are tiny!

ATP eliminators are units I personally would'nt touch with a bargepole. GT2871 without a manifold to support the increased flow is going to create a hell of a lot of back pressure in the manifold/exhaust housing

They have had good results with the A4 longitudinal engines, but again thats with a better manifold, which kind of defeats the point of the eliminator. Deffo stay away from K03 type.

so are we saying this is designed to fit in stock location and mate up to o.e manifold, dp and boost pipes.?
Well obviously using all o.e pipes it wont make 400 bhp but what could it safely make, anyone care to guess, my car has fmic and full 3 inch dp and exhaust, could it make 300-320 reliably with this turbo by just adding injectors and re mapping?

please share !

quote htc
"which kind of defeats the point of the eliminator".
are you implying "eliminator" is supposed mean it "eliminates" the need for loads of other after market bits.?

that looks a nice spread of power, what other mods did you need to make that power apart from the eliminator turbo and was yours just the same as the link i posted, i,e just a turbo upgrade mated to all the o.e parts.
If it can be this easy why arent loads of folks doing this instead of B.T kits

did'nt do it out of the box tho dave did it..
GT2871 in an eliminator package as a "bolt on" is for those who dont understand how these things work, and should be prepared for a heap of pain and dissapointment.

Because they are aweful quality and dont tend to get good reviews from people that have them. DPJ seems to be the only person that has got decent power but it took him alot of work to get it to the stage it is now.

Its only bolt on mating up to all your pipes if its the kit including inlet and not just turbo.

Just been reading up on vwvortex.

Bad spool and low power output. In summary, I wouldn't buy one personally.

No it didn't Bill.
If you gave me a list of turbo options, there would be several things above it, but it's a lot of fun. :D

props to you for keeping at it and making it work for you...
as a turbo of choice and the benefit of heinsight however.... ;)

It all depends on your budget and power goals!

I have a Gt2x Setup on a ibiza and it goes really well and is loads of fun...Yeah id defo agree with the comment about build quality...as its shocking

But i went from a Stage 2 k03s to a Gt2x and its a massive Difference for be personally...Mid to topend it really comes to life love Down it dosnt...Same as a K04 turbo really....

Ive only read 2 threads on the Gt28rs Elimantor which made good power....And personally if you want a bigger power goal Get rid of the k0X fitment,,

I think its good for the price as a bolt on kit....But not expect Massive gains as i couldnt see the Gt2x/gt28rs flowing anymore than 330bhp with out loads of Fiddling...
