hi guys i know what your gonna say about supercharging a 1.2 but ive got a pretty cheap opertunity to have it done. just wondering if anyone knows who can remap the seimens ecu??? spoke to a couple of places who said it was probably possible to run about 120 to 130 bhp on a cooper s worx supercharger safely with my engine but theyve all turned round and said they cant read or write to the seimens simoz ecu :( the only reason im thinkin of doin this is because its costin me next to nothin and im 18 so cant afford to go with a bigger engine atm. anyway thanks in advance

The insurance on that would be worse than trying to insure an FR. Plus you would need to uprate the brakes and suspension etc.
Nice thought but probably not cost effective.

Even if you can get the supercharger kit cheap and have the ECU remapped properly, the Insurance will be a small fortune, if you're lucky enough to be able to get it in the first place.

Save your money and put it towards a standard car that has the power you want

will the 3 cylinder unit take doubling its output, i reckon the internals may struggle.

PS the supercharger is the same on the works and standard S, its just the pulley size fitted, smalller the pulley higher the boost.

yeah am startin to think it may be more hassel and money than its worth... have already put a seidl bodykit on it an done custom manifold and stainless exhaust as well as a custom induction kit. its runnin slightly quicker than a 1.4 sport believe it or not with 18" wheels lol.

Try waiting a few years, save some pennies and buy a faster car!

If you supercharge the 1.2 you will most likely blow internals, my mate has a corrado G60 and that has a 1.8 8v but internals are stronger from standard.

well to be honest the 18"s arent much different than the standard wheels. the only difference is that you cant really do under 30 in 4th and it tops out at 110 on gps. ill fire up some semi old pics tonight. my car got reversed into about 3 weeks ago which cost the insurance of the women about 600 pounds then last saturday some pr1ck decided it would be fun to smash my car up with a kerb stone and a shopping trolley while i was at work... every panel except the driver-side sideskirt was damaged. put it into a place yesterday who said its a full respray so in a way the guy who smashed it up has done me a favour *** it means no more stone chips lol. my wheels also got chipper and scratched and my front window got smashed as well as my back window. but anyways will put out some newish photos tonight :)

thanks for the replies lads ;)

Fookin hell have you annoyed the big guy up in the sky? Alot of bad luck there.

I would be interested to see your 1.2 supercharged, something different I suppose. Some guy has got 180hp out of a charade GTI which he supercharged himself with a hybrid, and its still on stock internals. His engine is only like a 900cc or something like that.

:)

yeh twas quite hefty bad luck lol. got a courtesy car from the insurance - 1.2 56 plate polo with 2500 miles on the clock an i hate it even though its pretty much the same as an ibiza *** its standard

i think it would be pretty good to have it supercharged but then your talkin i dunno maybe 500 quid for half decent brakes and theres a good chance of blowin it to bits lol.

u can pick up some of the pd130 sports for around 5k at the mo iirc
as for how far you can tune one well, as far as your wallet will allow mate :D

heres a little info i can remeber of the top of my head:

pd130 remapped can vary from 170bhp to 185bhp if you get a really good un, put the pd160 intake and a green filter in, front mount intercooler maybe an allards conversion new clutch WILL be needed if more then a remap and air filter tho as you'll be close to the 300ft/lbs torque threshold:blink:
but triple d had about 240bhp i think(sorry can't remember exact figures/spec:redface: ) with the allards convo and milltek exhaust,

people to ask about tuning dervs are devonmikeyboy and triple d mate really:)

i think a 1.2 supercharged sounds pretty cool and i understand why you'd want to do it. :)

Probably wouldn't be logical though unfortunatley :(
