I'm getting about the same MPG (260-280MPG) in the petrol fr

I used tesco 99 octane petrol in my fr 20vt once and the MPG was exactly the same (I even did an ecu reset too)
also the responsiveness was no different, well if it was better it was not noticeable to me

so it's back to the supermarket stuff...................no probs here

You have to use at least 4 or 5 tank fulls for the effect to take place. The engine needs to clear out all the old stuff, and then the ECU takes time to adapt to the higher octane stuff.

My 53reg 1.4 ibiza used to do about that with standard fuel. If I was going to do motorway driving I'd use Tesco 99 octane. Then I'd get 330 before my fuel light would come on. That would drop to about 310 on normal commuting.

When I was in France last year, I used Repsol for the first time and it seems to like it. It didn't much like premium Esso much.

Experiment with a few different ones, see how you get on.

Don't forget that fuel "goes off" over time so if it's been sitting in the forecourt tanks then it's not going to be as good as the freshly made stuff. It'll still be at minimum BS standard, but how far above you don't know.

I agree - see what suits you, your car, your driving and is convenient... no good driving and extra 10 miles to get shell if theres other stations closer!!

The most miles I've ever done per tank in mine was 350 and that was a long distance journey on standard fuel after having a couple of tanks of V-power in.
For my daily nightmare stuck in traffic drive I've definatley noticed an improvement of a few miles per tank since I've been using higher RON/ Shell Vpower fuel for a while. I now seem to get about 280 before the petrol light comes on and 310ish (depends how brave I am) before I fill up. Before when I was using standard 95 all the time (and mostly Jet/tesco) I'd be filling up before 300.
