Sub + Amp install - HELP!!!!

Right well i changed where I earthed the amp (is now the rear seatbelt holder) and purchased new fuses (for the batt and the amp) popped the new fuses in and my multimeter read that the amp is now receiving 13.47 volts, WOOOHOOO i think, but is it all fixed and working now... ...NO!

it would appear that i have flipped the situation on its head and my amp has gone from not receiving enough juice to receiving too much, it now blows its fuse (the amps not the power cable) every time I turn the damn thing on....

any help will be much much appreciated, please... (i have just blown 3 fuses and have to go back to halfords!)

Right according to my trusty multimeter the mains voltage going into tha AMP is fine (13.5v) the remote is fine (13.5v) but the amps on the main voltage are at 19a, when my AMP can only take 15a (hence it keeps blowing fuses), any ideas on how to solve this????????????????

I put a 15 amp fuse in (as recommended in the manual) - it blows as soon as the car batt is reconnected

I put a 20amp fuse in - the same thing happens

I put a 25amp fuse in - same again

I put a 30 amp fuse in (feeling dangerous at this point) - the fuse in the amp doesn’t blow, the one on the cable by the car batt does!!!!

Why?

i also tried it with only the +12v and the ground cables connected to rule out a short circuit

deffinatly sounds like a short!

this may sound very obvious but check the following things

1) check that the +VE and the earth cable DO NOT touch each other at any point.
2) check that the REM is not touching the earth
3) ensure there is not an internal fault with the amp.

This is going to sound like areally dumbass queston but when using a sub in a box is it best to have sub facing the boot or the back seats?
