hi all, just bought a new ibiza cupra diesel to replace my old cupra diesel, and need to take the strut brace off as may as well swop over opposed to give the stealers a free one and also buy new one!!! looks reasonable simple to remove after taking off the ecu. just wanted to know if it is possible to disconnect the ecu box then re-attach or if this would then require it to be re-booted, or if it's safe to just ease it to one sidewhilst doing this?

any help would be appreciated.

if you see an 07 yellow cupra (i couldnt resist it even though the wife wishes i'd bought another black one!) at rockingham or donnington for btcc races then come over and say hi:)

cheers in advance for any help

I'd just unscrew it from the car and move it while you take the brace off. I doubt unplugging it would do any harm, but you dont really need to. ITs easier to leave it connected, but to move it out the way.
