Strange Turbo Noise

The turbo on the LCR has started to sound different than what it did. It is hard to explain the noise. Before it used to hiss, as it should. Now it hisses but with a wurring noise too. Sounds like there is a bb pellet in the turbo making a strange noise. However all power is still there

I cant think what it could be. I have a boost gauge - wondering if there is a slight leak in the line perhaps? Also I have just put in a green cotton filter - I'm guessing this will make a difference? The change in noise just doesn't sound too healthy

If it aint broke dont fix it is my thoughts - but Im a little worried as to why it has started sounding a little loose. It osunds what I'd imagine an old old turbo to go like - a bit rough

Did a search on this but didnt find much - has anyone else had any similar problems?

Is it a constant sound? Any increased oil consumption?

Maybe not the answer your after mate, but maybe pop down to PSI Tuning in Newcastle? They will be able to advise straight away.

It comes in between 0-10 PSI on the boost gauge. It doesnt do it when car is idling and is revved.. Will check the oil out tomorrow

I am looking at remapping with PI & Custom Code soon, I could get them to check it over then I guess

Identified it I think. Its the new Green COtton Air FIlter making the different noise. It comes from the passenger side - this is the only thing Ive changed recently. As it lets more air through must make a different noise.... a lot more whooshing
