Strange rust marks on my brake discs?

Hey folks!

What's this and how do I get rid of it?

After a drive the rust marks are not visible (due to using brakes) but after the car sits for a few hours this appears! :(

Thanks in advance.

Thats completely normal, its because the metal is bare and therefore reactive due to braking friction. Its just from moisture or water going on the brakes. It happens every time i wash the car, i therefore go for a quick spin to clean them up, same on the old man's Porsche to.

Still a pain to look at after you have spent hours cleaning your car!

Aye cheers for the replies folks.

My main concern is that I'm going to a music festival this weekend then Ibiza 2 days after that (Yes I know lol) so the car will not be driven for just under 2 weeks and I hate to think what the discs will look like when I get back! The car will be around family etc but no one is allowed to drive her except me : )

autoglym alloy wheel cleaner! :funk: ...although i no longer use it as i have not got black wheels and i see you have the same so maybe there is an alternative? but when i cleaned my silver alloys with it, it used to clean the discs up lovely.

As above, just water reacting with the disc material. Happens when I wash, so after drying the car get to a straight and one good pull of the handbrake for the rears and a stiff push for the front. Then clean off the residue from the alloys when I get back.

Also, with the alloy wheel cleaner, found that the overspray from this would kill the lacquer on the Brembo calipers (if you have an LCR that is), so stopped using it.

I dont use it any more as i said Iv now for new painted wheels so i just use car shampoo conditioner on the wheels too. Was just saying it cleaned my brake discs nicely though. They are now back to a horrible orange colour.
