Strange Noise

Hey all,

My FR TDI appears to have developed a strange noise of recent, and I wonder if anyone could offer some ideas as to what it is. I've just had my front springs replaced, and new front and back brake discs and Pads. I noticed this week when driving home from work, at about 70 I can hear an audio humming, it is also there, not that much at lower speeds, but above 70 dies away.

My first thoughts are that maybe somethings rubbing on the front brakes, but then I wonder about the wheel bearings, when the cars idling there is no noise, and when I coast the noise remains, so I am thinking its more related to the running gear than the engine.

I've also driven along with the window open, but I can't say I hear anything strange. Going to investigate tomorrow, but wondered whether anyone has heard anything similar.

I just got my wheels aligned after my first 1k kms had a very bad vibration in the steering at 120kms. so anyway i go to the dealer ship they send it off to the wheel alignment place then when i get it back i have the weird humming noise at speed of 40 to like 70 kms. i think it might be the wheel bearings but i dont know the car is brand new still cant figure it out

If its like a droning sort of noise i'd say wheel bearing. Jack the car up and try moving each wheel left to right and top to bottom if there is excess play then thats usually bearing

Does the noise get louder when cornering either way? Usually when turning left if the humming gets louder it is the drivers side or vise a versa.
