THIS SOUND ONLY HAPPENDS FIRST THING IN THE MORNING OR AFTER I FINISH WORK! I TURN THE ENGINE OVER AND IT STARTS TO MAKE A WHISTLING SOUND, LIKE SOME PRSSURE IS BEEN LOST. THIS HAPPENDS FOR A WHILE TILL THE ENGINE WARMS UP AND THE AUTO CHOKE TURNS OFF, AS SOON AS THE CHOKE FINISHES ANOTHER SLIGHTLY LOUDER WHISTLING SOUND HAPPENDS! WHY? I LOOKED AT THE ENGINE BUT COULDN`T SEE ANYTHING! IT HASN`T REALLY EFFECTED DRIVING, YET! STILL HAS SOME GO-GO! ANY IDEAS?

Yup. press the caps lock button before typing!

Have you been able to find where the noise is comming from - top of engine? back, sides?

Does it only happen once a day or does it happen everytime you start the car from cold?

Sounds like the exhaust gas recirculation/secondary air pump thingy - apparently perfectly normal. IIRC it feeds warm air into the cat to help it get up to temperature, so you might hear it any time the engine is warming up. It does cut in and out at times, and when it stops there can be a louder "whistle".

Having said that, I recently had to have the secondary air pump replaced, and the new one makes nowhere near as much noise.

That will be your secondary air pump, sounds like it may be leaking, not too much of a problem as it is, but think they are a couple of hundred quid to replace.
