Stolen leon help needed!!!

Hi Chaps

Don't know where to put this thread, but i wondered if i could ask for some help.

Yesterday my best mates Seat leon was stolen around the Manchester, Trafford Park Area, Police obviously have informed and all info given.

Calling all Leon Owners in the Manchester, Greater Manchester Area can you possibly have your eyes peeled for a Black Seat Leon S TDI, on a 51 plate.

Sorry to ask and sorry if this is not the place to ask for help.

Any info on black leons eg(Area, street names) would be grateful to me and the police.

The owner is out of the counntry and the car was in for some body repairs at a garage on Guiness road i was over seeing the repair and costs for my mate, making sure everything got done the way my mate wanted it.

I feel the more eyes we have out there the more chance of finding his pride a joy in one piece and hopefully, best scenario un-damaged.

I work on the Traffic Unit for GMP and i will certainly be keeping my eyes out for it!

It will be given A1 attention as all Leon's should!

Black leon left at (Hills One Stop Garage) on guiness road, cannot fault them brill garage for sevicing.

Neal my mate left his car for some stone chip repairs on the bonnet and front wings, plus other things.

left me to oversee the repairs make sure everything was getting done.

Last Night between 6:00pm and 7:00pm car was left outside on the forecourt of garage, keys were inside the workshop.

The Boss Mr Hill (Nice Guy)!! was working late and was just going to close, and knew neals car had to go inside, went ouside, car gone, went to the key box box wrenched open.

Now key box is right next to the main door into the workshop, this door was open since Mr hill was working late.

Scum bags enter the building via main door to workshop break open key box which was locked and take the last remaining keys in the box.

They then use the proper seat keys to drive my mates car away.

Garage insurance should cover it, but this will not cover the cost for a replacement leon since insurance companys will only give back what the car is worth now, and not the value of the car when it was purchased.

Hmm!! what to do!!

has anyone else been in a situation when there cars have been stolen and what needs to be done.

The police and Neals insurance has been informed.

To the Traffic Police Guy if you need a crime number please ring me.

Hope its recovered with no damage

But he can knock back the insurers first offer for the car......and if he can show them what he would need to replace it, they should cough up.

His insurers will be able to help him with the legal costs etc....and I'm sure they will help him get the most money to get another........as bottom line, its not them paying....so they won't be trying to save them selves money...

Ive not had anything stolen but written a few cars off. If he gets a valuation from the insurance then he needs to reject the first offer and send them pictures of similar leons with similar mileage,

I did when the legal side of my insurance was sorting it out and got a bit more cash.

Worth a try.
