The offside rear door exterior handle sticks occasionally and I have found the attached information on how to fix it. What it doesn't tell you is how to remove the offending part (circled in red on the attched photo) to relieve the handle guides. I did find a 'You Tube' video which showed how to remove the door handle completely by removing a bung on the door edge which is inline with the door handle and using a tool with a bent end to release the handle which basically then just pulls off. Anybody done this and can offer some guidance?

Ah, I see, all you need/want to do is to remove the driver's lock barrel assembly and the passenger's side dummy lock "barrel" assembly, from the door, one thing it to do is to only unscrew the retaining screw far enough to allow these barrel assemblies to be removed - remove the screws too far and they will fall down inside the door and you might not be able to retrieve them. Maybe consider buying in a couple of new lock retaining screws?

The plastic trim covers should just be able to prise off using care not to damage the paintwork.

It's not the front door handles that are sticking - it's the offside rear door which doesn't have a lock barrel......and I always magnetise the screwdriver before removing screws in awkward places!

Yes I understood that, so both back doors have the dummy lock/barrel assembly and cover the same as the front passenger door has - and the same method of retaining these dummy lock/barrel assemblies. I'd be using the advised procedure as only unscrew the retaining screws as far as you need to to allow the dummy lock/barrel assemblies to be withdrawn - one false move and that screw will get wiped off that magnetised tool - and down and out of sight.
