i have just moved on from my 106 which had a really good sound sysytem... and when i was looking for the ibiza i was aware that the head unit could not be changed (without alot of work).

now my question is.... wot type of sound systems are you guys putting in your cars. looking for maybe a sub and amp(if this is possible off a standard head unit), door speakers and tweeters and rear speakers.

wot size are the door speakers (before i got ripping the door panel off)?
how easy is it to wire up a sub (if possible) - aslo in the standard head unit?

cheers

sub is quite easy you lose your rear speaker throw you need a hi-low level input converter that you can use to plug your av into and wire into you rear speaker in the back of the stereo

I got a little gizmo wired into the back of my standard headunit off the speaker wires which allows me to run...

JBL Fronts & Tweeters
JBL 6x9's
JBL Sub

All off of a huge JBL Amp.

All this sounds really good off the standard HU also all of the standard HU controls still work ie; fade front/rear left/right, bass, treble etc.

Install was done by:

I wouldn't get the autoleads convertor, quite frankly it's :censored: Get the alpine version, it works great.

ive had no problems with mine and my stereo sounds great and how much is the alpine compared to the auto leads?

I used an autoleads one. Had an intermittant channel to start but found that one of the connections inside hadn't been soldered correctly so fixed it myself and now works fine.

The whole install is easy enough. Convert your audio signal from speaker to RCA using one of these boxes (HI-LO convertors) at the rear of the head unit for fronts and at the rear speakers for the rears and you have your RCAs........Job Done!!!:D

So is it possible to wire two of these converters in to run two amps? Or can you buy a converter with four rca outputs?
