Steering wheel uncomfortable!!

I've had my Ibiza for a few months now and I love it but despite the rake/tilt adjust on the steering wheel i just can't seem to find a comfortable position for it. I always feel like my wrists are at the wrong angle and that the wheel is hard and pushing into my hand. I sit quite long- legged anyway but tried adjusting the seat back as far as I can go and still be able to hold the clutch in but to no avail.

The steering wheel on my previous fiesta was non-adjustable but I always found it comfortable however I did have a height-adjust drivers seat on that car and the steering wheel was smaller diameter and thicker to the touch with half leather.

Perhaps I just need to sit on a cushion or get a steering wheel cover to try cheap options first! - But maybe a different wheel will help??

I had a 2006 Ibiza as a courtesy car and the wheel felt really nice and comfy as it was thicker and possibly smaller in diameter. I know that SEAT do a leather steering wheel for the Ibiza but is this the same shape as the one on my late 2004 Ibiza SX which is plasticy and thin with a largish diameter? As if it is then there's no point. Anyone know the cost to fit - including fitting the airbag? any other wheels that I could possibly try that would fit?

Not sure on prices (no doubt ridiculous from the dealers) but the Cupra steering wheel is fantastic - maybe worth trying Ebay or a breakers?

Phew it's not just me having awkward arms then!!

Will it be a simple enough job for the workshop to swap them over? i mean with the airbag etc?

I saw that someone on here had a wheel for sale on ebay. Shame I missed it. Anyone else got one....????

It's the best steering wheel I've ever used, the FR. Better than the earlier MK4s which I felt were quite sore to hold onto after a while.

Are you quite short or tall? As that may have something to do with it as there usually designed fort he "normal person" with adjustments either side, but who the hell they think are normal people is anyone buisness!

If the steering wheel uses the sam airbag then it should only be about £100-£200 for a replacemnt5 from the dealer but if you need a new air bag your looking at £250-£400 just for the new air bag

well I'm longish in the leg but short in the body - that's perhaps partlywhy but I do think that the wheel isn't nice anyway!!

Any idea where I could get a cupra or FR wheel. Compared to the Fiesta where you can get parts from pretty much anywhere the SEAT seems a little harder to find. I looked on ebay but nowt there at the moment.
