Just tell them the prob's you've been experincing, as to the balance it depends on the wheels you have. The near to perfect balance is to have bang on weights in and outside the wheel, next best is what is kniwn as ali 3 (band on on inside and sticky behind the spokes, and last is ali 2 which is stick on weights as near to the inside edge of alloy as poss and sticky weights behind the spokes. Also ask them to make sure they get the balance as near to zero as poss. Most machines have a fine button which tells the fitter how close to zero the wheel is. As I said before mate go to Costco and get them to do it. As to D.K he's normally just round the corner to my work at his 2nd home AmDEssex:cartman:

Thanks again for the advice on this annoying matter.... The wheels are just the standard 17" starfish cupra alloys. Checked the beads this morning them seam to be fine and equal. The weights are the sticky flat ones positioned flat on the outside of the rim behind the spokes, about 55g on one wheel and 60g on the other.

This still seams like alot of weights to be putting on the wheels, in the past there has only been 10 - 15g on the wheels.

I will try costco this weekend. I think once I get this sorted (fingers crossed) and get my service / MOT done at SEAT at the end of the April I might take a run down south, should have down some carbon bits by then. The list keeps getting longer....lol

Anyone got any suggestions for an accurate balancing place in or around Glasgow or Hamilton?

By the sounds of it mate they've done 1 sided balance. There should be sticky weights on the on inner edge of rim and behind spokes. To get the perfect balance. Just had a thought is there any places by/near you that do alloy wheels suspension etc bit like this place http://www.elitedirect.com/index.html, as they will do balancing properly. Hope you get it sorted soon mate. Let me know how you get on.

Yeah mate, Drivers in town. They fitted my Blistein suspension kit to my old mk3 golf years ago. I will give them a bell to ask the question. Keep you posted mate, thanks again for the advice as it is a kinda grey area for me.

Just a quick update, i got my front wheels rebalanced again. Vibration is pretty much gone now, they were out by more than 10g. The front end still feels a bit loose and i have noticed that both front tyres have more wear on the inside edge. I was thinking of getting the tracking, camber and alignment checked at the weekend. Do you think this would be the cause of the wear and loose front end??
