Mine did this, there was a bung on the nearside front under the scuttle panel that was no longer water tight. Sealed it up with some silicone and have had no problems since.

Also changed the pollen filter twice (every 10k) you should see how dirty they are after just 10k miles!

its likely that he pollen filter is wet. not uncommon if its not been correctly covered or watrer drain holes in the scuttle panel area are blocked.

fyi The interior fan draws air in from outside under the bonnet near the windscreen and the pollen filter can be found there. Its stops leaves, crap and all manner of things being sucked into the car when you turn your fans on.
Not many people appreciate that water that flows down the windscreen runs under the bonnet and drains via drain holes inside the wings / near the end of the scuttle panel. This can get blocked by leaves or the like which can lead to the pollen filter (which is located nearby) getting soaked. (or as above due it being fitted incorrectly).

If the pollen filter is wet then as soon as you turn on the ignition air is drawn through the pollen filter and as a result damp/wet air is blown onto the windows, and due to the glass being cold and dew point temperatures (basically as air reduces in temperature so does its ability to hold moisture) the moisture in the air condenses on the surface of the glass.
Much the same as when you breath onto glass in the winter.

Very informative thanks. I'll check that out. So if it's wet, buy another one? Do I just look for seat ibiza pollen filter or is it a prt to the filter I need?

I had this with two other cars, one was the seal around the windscreen and as soon as i silicon sealed it and sealed the rubber back down it was fine. The other car was the rubber seal around the drivers door and was ok once sorted!

Normally damp inside causes the screen to fog, as for cleaning I would use meguiars window cleaner as it uses properties that prevent windows fogging up, ESP good in winter!! As for your wipers buy a new set of Bosch aero wipers for a more modern look, I did and they are fantastic ESP at 20 quid !!

you could buy another although i simply dried mine out by leaving it above the radiator for a while.

However, if it is wet, then why is it wet? a bit of invrestigation / inspection is needed really as if you dry it out it will only get wet again.

Where abouts are you? im sure you would get many volunteers on here to take a look...
