Startup bongs and pings

Had my Leon about 6 weeks now and I've noticed that in addition to the regular "bing bong" noise you get on ignition I randomly also get an angry sounding "ping" both when turning the ignition on and off which, in my old 71 plate SEAT Leon, was usually accompanied by a warning light or error message on the dash. In this car, however, I've never seen any lights or error messages either in the digital dash or the infotainment when it happens.

Any ideas what it might be? Anyone else experiencing this at all?

Usually get that (repeated) when a door is open and you turn the ignition on, or you go to neutral (DSG) or let the hand brake off with a door open.

I think it's supposed to be for when the car considers you might be trying to run yourself over, not sure if there is an error message to explain though.

If it's just the single bing then yes, it's usually a problem that should have a message given.
