Starting issue

Hi I've got a problem with my wife's Leon, it's a 2.0l diesel, was starting fine but now turning over but not starting. I have checked the fuses and relays under the bonnet and in the car all seem okay, had the AA out to check it over and he's got it to start by putting a wire in where the 370 relay should be under the bonnet. The glow plug light doesn't come on without the wire in but starts and seems to drive okay with it in, obviously not a great idea for the long term , anyone else had this kind of issue or got any ideas please?

Hi thanks for your reply, the AA guy did 1 and had 1 in the drivers door but he cleared that and no others, no lights etc on the dash, just the glow plug light doesn't come on without this wire in

I’ve got a 64 plate 2.0TDI 150 and it does the same but more - I turn the key and it keeps cranking even after I’ve let go of the key ( no start) unless I turn the ignition off . Sometimes it just cranks once with no start . No codes - I heard it was put down to a software issue that Seat should ( but apparently were reluctant to voice) be aware of . Let me know how you got on (hopefully you’re sorted now !) and I’ll do the same

64 plate is a Mk3 Leon, not a Mk2. You'd get a better response asking in the Mk3 section.
