Nope. In Tormentor you either have to hold on/off button on multimedia screen and then turn off ss and then again on/off to turn on multimedia. Or go into car settings via touch screen, then assistants and then ss toggle is there. No plastic button sadly:(

In all the cars I had before I had button so it was hassle free and fast. Now it takes like 3-4 clicks on touch screen to turn it off. Probably that's why some of the users complain (me too) and wanna hardwire some modules in it. Most likely I would be satisfied if normal button was present lol.
I was thinking that holding the on/off button rebooted the infotainment system?

Damn, sorry about not having a button (our '15 León does).

I haven't driven one extensively (owned one) but in the tight British urban areas the DSG is always a nuisance when I drive one, especially with really tight parking. I was reading about the S/S system in the owner's manual and the speeds that DSG turns off the motor at look bothersome to say the least (since we don't have actual stop signs/hard stops here in England like most countries ... that slow roll looks like a killer). With the dash button, my GF just turns the S/S off every time and I leave it on as I can modulate it with the clutch pedal if I want to save some fuel in traffic.

Perhaps I should give the DSG a chance but I really like a manual transaxle and have never owned anything else since my first car (Toyota Supra) 30 or so years ago.

Does the Formentor infotainment screen allow you to set up shortcut keys for your four most used / favourite functions like in the mk8 Golf?

In the YouTube video at the link below, at 13 minutes and 33 seconds into the video the presenter goes through the process for setting up the shortcut keys. If this functionality does exist in the Formentor, once stop start is set up as a shortcut key, a single swipe down on the infotainment screen will give you access to stop start to switch it off, rather than having to go through various menus and sub menus.

You have to hold it for 10 secs or so to reboot. Holding it for like 2 will turn off multimedia screen and present you with clock and 3 options - one is ss, second is drive mode and third I forgot haha:D Other way like I mentioned is going through car settings and assistants menu.

Yea, it was possible - but only with older software version. Since like 18xx it's not. VAG removed this shortcut from possible options. Why? Who the fxxk knows. Don't know if anyone ever complained bout this or what...

There isn't much "going through car settings" to toggle S/S off. You need exactly 3 clicks. Car icon -> Smart assistants -> S/S
It is quicker then turning off the screen, and then back on...

Not on mine
Sport mode does disable SS on my VZ3. Switched between comfort/highway and sport mode and indeed it did not turn off the engine with this white symbol on the IC:

Switched to comfort/highway and the engine turned off again. But I'm driving on individual mode most of the time, don't want the revs in 3-4k range all the time. :)

I have studied this SS thing for a while now. Looks like these modules are rubbish, or I have not found one that works as it should. For example, SS is ON again after driving profile selection, I do these often, so no go.

I ended up with a physical momentary button (hate touch buttons in car) near the gear selector. I can live with that and I control the SS function as I like.

Does anyone not disable SS, as I always do this too.
I very rarely do, maybe 2 or 3 times in the last year. In a queue of traffic when the car in front pulls away my car auto starts before I need to move. if I'm at a junction and need to be ready I'll take some pressure off the brake pedal and it'll start and not move. So it really doesn't bother me

Nope, just CUPRA button short press (to exit CUPRA Mode and then Long press to engage Full on CUPRA mode with active exhaust Open. Then Sport Mode on Gearbox...

...ENGAGE!

Maybe there is a way to disable it by updating parameters which are considered for shutting the engine down. Does anybody test this approach maybe? ref:

This is not MQB Evo platform car like Formentor and this mod does not work.

Only option to disable SS in Formentor is driving in Sport mode (too agressive for me to drive all the time), unplug the ammeter plug or add repair wire to central electrics module with coding and physical button.

I have not tried ASR or MTM modules, too expensive for me.

If anyone know other options, let us know.
