Squeaking noise from rear left wheel

In the last few weeks I’ve noticed a squeaking noise coming from the rear left side of my car, a cupra 290. Basically it’s when I’m turning left at around 15-20mph and I’m really not sure to what I could be, it’s not related to the brakes as it happens without braking. Any ideas?

Could still be the brakes. The pads sit very close to the disk when they're off, skimming it really, so it doesn't take much lateral force to give you a little squeak.

Not saying it is the brakes, but it could be. If you touch the brakes while it's squeaking and the noise stops, probably the brakes.

I’m really not sure as it happens without me touching the brakes, if you were to compare the sound to anything it’s like an old rusty car with a faulty suspension squeaking but then again I’ve had no warning lights. I’ll have to take it in to the garage.

The pads sit so close to the disks that going round a corner can be enough to make them rub together.

Did you end up finding the issue mine is currently doing this

It’s unlikely you’ll get a reply from the original poster - they’ve not been active on the forum for nearly four years.

Mine did this, squeaked (brake squeak) when going round slow corners - could only hear with the window open.

Was my front wheel bearings.

You couldn't feed play/roughness in the wheel in the normal bearing test. I also had a whump whump rhythmic noise at high speed - again very feint, my missus couldn't hear it but I could. Changed both front bearings and both faults cured.
