Square number plates

Hi everyone,

Ive owned my 07 Leon FR now for about 3+ months and I love it. I've modded the car quite a lot already. The next thing I had in mind was changing my front number plate to a square the type. If I was to do this would I need to drill holes into my bumper? Then I'm assuming I'd need to fill in and paint the old holes? Sorry if this sounds stupid, I'm new to this kind of thing, usually drive classic Beetles.

Thanks in advance for any help given.

A square number plate hangs over the honeycomb grill so when I fitted mine I simply cable tied a packer to the grill and then used number plate sticky pads to fix to the bumper and to the packer so no holes were needed. Been on over 2 years and still well stuck on.

But yes your old number plate will leave holes

I used a piece of plastic the correct thickness as to bring it level with where you attach the rectangle number plate, but the sticky pads are really good so that will probably fine.

A thing you use to pack something out with, like bring the level up further etc.

But you should be fine with just sticky back tape, thats all I used for mine for 3 years
Nice one, thanks Graham.
