Speakers dying, one by one

I've got the standard 8-speaker / Alana setup in my 1.2 '03.

Thing is the speakers are "dying" one by one. First the front driver woofer, then the passenger side one and now the rear passenger one has gone along with the rear passenger tweeter as well, all over the course of a year.

Sometimes one of the woofers will come back but sound very strange.

Anyone else had this?

Nope, but I have all my original ones in a box if you want them...

Is it the speakers though, or the output from the headunit ?

First thing to check would be the connections on the back of the headunit I'd have thought.

Cheers muddy boots, yes, I'm definitely checking the connections first and I may well give you a few bob for the speakers if it turns out not to be them ad lav.
