Hello everyone,

Hopefully someone will know but I'm near completion of a rear sub install and need to wire up the RCA and rather than coming off the headunit because... Cba

I'm wanting to splice the signal off of the rear speakers. Found them trunked along the interior side trim but no idea what colours for positive and negative I'm looking for.

Help!

Hi and welcome to the forum,
From what I can tell, the left mid-range speaker should be white & black for the negative feed, and blue & black for the positive. The right mid-range should be red & purple for positive, and brown & purple for negative. See the image for the details:

Amazing, came across that schematic earlier but really wasn't sure.
As clarification it is a 2016 Leon FR
By the looks that seems right but again wanted to check before splicing the wrong cables

Think it depends on what system you have, as on my car with the 8 speakers (8RM) (J794 control unit for information electronics) the colours are different. 2016 MY ST FR.

So after exposing the wires and tweaking, very close from what you told me but that diagram is a bit weird for the rear left as in fact they are as follows:

Rear Left + = Red/White
Rear Left - = Brown/White
Rear Right + = Red/Purple
Rear Right - = Brown/Purple

Cables have been spliced and RCA signal passed to AMP successfully.
Thank you for the help :)

Will probably be making a video on this shortly as literally couldn't find anything on the matter, hence the topic.

That's the same colour wires as my car.

Hello all I do apologies for opening old post but I didn't want create new thread. All this wiring diagrams are very helpful but how do I know what system(head unit, control unit for information electronics) my car has got ? Im new on this forum and never owned a VAG. Looking at similar posts there is a number of different wiring diagrams (cable colors) for different cars...If it helps my car is Leon FR Estate 2016 with sat nav , not sure how many speakers it has as I will be picking it up next week.
