Hey, i have seat leon fr sc 2014 (3door coupe) and i want to upgrade my speaker.
I don't want a setup like those guys with hard bass all over the street. just some good speakers that won't cramp on high volume,
Which speakers do I need? sizes, amount and what type

thanks for the help.

p.s: the guy who i bought the car from left an amplifier in the back (looks like a very cheap one) if that helps

What sound system does your SC have? Centre speaker in the dash present? Subwoofer in the spare tyre? In any case for door speakers I went with BLAM Relax 200RS in the front and 165RS in the rear. So 20cm front woofers, 16.5cm rear woofers, along with their respective tweeters. Even though the impedance is a bit lower, the OEM amp seems to be able to cope with it. Nice performance on higher volumes as well.

I have heard FOCAL ISU200 speakers in a 2015 SC - was impressed with them.

Personally - if you are not installing power amps - I would consider having SEAT SOUND retrofitted - then perhaps add the FOCAL ISU200 speakers.

how much better is this over the OEM speakers? thinking about changing the fronts in mine to the 200RS's too.

Hard to tell really. I went from full OEM Seat Sound to extra soundproofing all around and BLAM Relax all around. That was quite the difference. Couldn't tell what just a front speaker change would do. In any case, switching from the OEM cellulose speakers to the woven fibre of the 200RS will give you much more clarity and punch.

I fitted FOCAL ISU200 ti my old Leon, they worked brilliant and pretty much a direct fit,, you need to add sound reading material to the doors otherwise all the bass is lost

was they much louder that the OEM speakers. i feel my OEM speakers to be very low even at max volume compared to previous cars.

i will add sound deadening to help with bass, did you do anything with the tweeters or just replace the door speakers. Was it a decent difference yeh??

Are the fronts a direct replacement or will i need to buy an adapter? I will also be sound proofing. Could you recommend any specific sound deadening?

I did both the tweeters and the door speakers in the front, you can buy adapter rings to make the focal speakers fit and you can buy wiring adapters so you don't have to cut the cars wiring in the doors - the tweeters had to be modified to fit the pillar, I think from memory I had to cut the connector and fit my own and hot glued the tweeter module to the A pillar trim - the sound deadening stuff was Dynamatt but can't remember exactly what one now
