I got my 2006 Leon 2.0 TDI Sport last week. Loving it so far, its my first diesel aswell.

In the boot i have the tyre repair kit, although the previous owner must have removed the compressor, so i'm looking to get a space saver in there instead as i dont like the kits.

I read in another thread there are two sizes 16" and 18" space savers, both with 70 profile tyres.
My Leon has the 17" sport alloys, So would i be looking to get a 16" space saver for it?

Also is the stud pattern 5x112?

Cheers!

Yeah mine has the 17" sport alloys and came with a 16" space saver.
The stud pattern is indeed 5x112.

Cheers for the quick reply!

I will keep an eye out for one on eBay, Audi and VW ones will fit too then.

Previously owned a 2002 1.4 Civic(With the Type-R Kit).
Did 30,000miles in my first 2 years of driving, so though a diesel was the way to go. So went and got this now i am 19.

Great car to drive.

well you put one of the good rear tyres on the front, then the temporary tyre on the rear.

space saver

I got mine off the internet from ACD breakers for around £40 less than the dealer wanted - didn't fancy travelling through Europe with just a can of goo.

I cant believe i didnt think of that:doh:
I would still like to be able just bang the spare straight on tho.
Punctures are frustrating enough without the pfaff of swapping wheels.
My mate got an A5 as a courtesy car on Thursday, it had a 19" spacesaver:blink: I offered him £65 to swap it with mine but he wouldnt.
The odd thing was it only had 17" wheels on it

So would an 18" space saver be too big for me?

Its just im struggleing to find a 16" wheel, but theres a few 18" ones on eBay.
Some coming off of tourans, so surely they wont be to big?

Cheers for the email Jon, but i got one last night.

Hopefully it will be ok. Currently driving with nothing in the boot, seen as i have the foam but no compressor

what does the tyre repair kit consist of Jon TDi? I'm looking at saving weight and my space saver 16" is being made redundant so could do with someting in the event of a puncture
