Just bought myself a TDi cupra. unfortunately there was no spare wheel with it. would anybody know what the standard spare wheel is that comes with them so that I may try and source one?

thanks

Hi Broxi,

I've got a Mk4 Ibiza Cupra TDi (Jan 2007) and the spare is a bog standard steel affair. I haven't a clue what size the wheel itself is but the tyre on it is a Pirelli 195/45 R 16. The main wheels are, of course, the 17inch alloys.

Hope this helps, Mick

The spare wheel is the same as the other 4. Mk4 Cupras come with a full size spare, not a steel one because the steel one won't fit over the front brakes.

Check the brochure and it will say 'full size spare' as a feature. I've owned 2 Cupras (54 plate and 07 plate) and they both came with a spare Cupra alloy If you got a steel one, you got ripped off.

I recall reading a thread like this one a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure that there were some people who had full size alloy for the spare (me included) and a few people who didn't

You might be able to sell your wheels individually to these people if they make themselves known

use the search bar for spare cupra wheel or something and i'm sure you'll find these poor individuals. I don't get how they wouldn't have one because the front calipers on Cupras are so big that standard wheels don't fit over them.

I think the stealers must ebay them or something :p The steel one will fit on the back but if you get a puncture or someting on the front, you will have to first swap the spare with a rear wheel and then put the rear wheel on the front...not much use if it's an emergency on the motorway!

Hi - first post so hope it's OK :). Any info on the width/ET of the alloys. Saw some older pro race 1's on a MK4 Cupra once but there was probably only a mm clearance to the calipers. I'm thinking about the original spares route for track days at the moment, but lightweight is always better ;)

I had the same dilema... although I managed to get 5 cupra wheels with tyres for £450. Alot cheaper than if I had gone down the Pro Race avenue.
