So I have somehow lost my key for my Seat Leon MK4, luckily I had a spare key however it's not working. I called up Seat who sent out roadside assistance and they said that as the key isn't programmed there isn't anything they can do and that it will have to be sent to the dealer who will have to put in a new lock and immobilizer, luckily I have warranty on the car but they said it could take a few weeks as they need to order the parts in from Germany.
Does this sound right? I've looked online and I've found some car auto locksmiths who say they can programe a key for any car then and there. I just find it odd that Seat are saying I need a new lock put in and then these guys saying they can programe the key.
Should I go with Seat or just call the locksmiths? I don't mind paying to get it sorted asap.
