has anyone fitted spacers to their Leon?

just curious as it is a popular and best mod for the Ibiza's due toe the rear track being narrower...is this the same for the Leons as well?

Erm - sorry if this is a dumb question but...

they increase the distance between wheels to give a more balanced planted feel when cornering, it also looks more manly GRRRR! :D

Do they make the wheel protrude form the arch (i.e. illegally) ?

Is there any noticeable difference ?

Cheers (theres me saying I was getting no more mods.......)

10mm will be 100% fine as long as you use the 10mm longer bolts.
before, not a great pic but you can see how narrow the rear end is std.

then the more agressive look with 10mm spacers filling the arches

It does look very good. Tempted to do 10mm front and rear myself. But the cost of the spacers plus the longer bolts for all four wheels isn't exactly cheap!

the rear is narrower than the front so widening the rear only to me makes just as much sense to balance things up a little.
hubcentric spacers can be bought second hand you know rob!
the bolts arnt expensive, a tenner will get you ten (dont forget that the std locking nuts arnt long enough once you fit the spacers.) bolts, I wouldnt bother with the fronts as they will still be using the locking nuts which hopefully would deter thieves from nicking just two wheels.

14mm doesnt stick out as much as you think., the main reason for me was to eliminate the rubbing on the Coilovers.

Very true. Not something that crops up often for sale second hand though, so unless you have the money at that moment, you're stuck with buying new.

I'd quite like to do both the fronts and the rears, but more on the rear than the front.

Oh, and where did you find 10 bolts for £10?
