Ordered some 20mm spacers and 10mm spacers from greg clark for my 8v cuprasport.

Anyone got any pics of these fitted to there car so i got an idea of what there guna look like with my coilovers and mk3 cupra alloys??

For 20mm on rear did people need arches rolled??

How will 10mm on the front look any ideas??

Thanks

the front on an ibiza is basically golf, mk3 golf on a mk3, mk2 golf on a mk2, the rear is mk4 polo, so is 30mm narrower, spacing the rear wheels makes the rear the same siza as the front.

not really as the spacers bolt in to the usual place where you bolt the wheel in then you bolt the wheel in to the spacers. If you get what i mean.

Your question wasnt stupid, the car will handle a lot better as it will be wider its like saying what good is it lowering the car, changes centre of gravity etc

i ran porsche adaptors that were 25mm thick all round for about 6 months without a problem.

A lot of folk put spacers on the rear ones because SEAT made the rear tracking approximately 30mm shorter than on the front.

Ive never had any play in the bearings, cheap fix if one does decide to wear anyway.

it helps torque steer ...ive taken mine off and notice it quite a bit, when braking my steering wheel has a mind of its own ...with spacers its a lot better but can still be improved mind.

don't understand why you would want front spacers if the main idea is to bring the back to the same width as the front? sure, wider track would improve the handling but all your doing is moving away again from the original problem no?

its not really a problem, someone who drives the car as standard doesnt find the wider fron track a problem. The reason i was going to put front 10mm spacers on was to widen out my wheels to make it look better!!

I dont thrash my car around so i dont need racettrack set up, i just wanted a little bit of a euro look on my mk3 cupra alloys with 20mm spacers rear and 10mm front thats all. I may not even run front spacers yet i will see how it looks first!

Sorry, I know this has been asked a hundred times but where is the best place to get a decent set of spacers? and do they literally bolt straight on or is there other things you need to buy like longer bolts etc?

cheers

Surely though spacing the rear wheels by 30mm or whatever actually puts strain on the wheel bearings and the bolts damaging them? x

You should get decent hubcentric spacers and not cheapies and this won't be a problem. You'll also need longer wheelbolts. Badger Bill on here can supplyall you need I believe.
