Software Update

I have an Ibiza FR Sport 95 TSI

Hardware: H56
Software: 0841
Navigation database: 21.7
Media Codec: 3.1.4
Radio database 1.30.36

Is this the latest software? If not how can I manually update? I had a random update last week and it seems to have infested my car with bugs, with the emergency SOS and false steering wheel issues which disappeared after a restart, but never the less a bugged version of software I presume

The SOS business is your telematics box that needs changing... that is the story. Whether Seat can start this all off again via a duff firmware update pass. May be.

If it's a secondhand car the previous owner may not have had the telematics box swapped out. @East Yorkshire Retrofits may tell you about the problem. But that's the source of the telematics issue or was. All Vag cars were prone to beeping from 2020. Seat was just slow to fix it. VW was sorted first, Skoda then Seat. New models you'd expect them to be sorted.

It was the curse of the early Formentors.

That's great to know than you for telling me, the cars going to the dealership next week for them to root out the issues as it's still under warranty so I'll let them know.

0870 is the latest release. We can perform any updates here at our workshop in Bridlington

1969 isn’t for your infotainment unit. 0xxx is the train for your unit. I believe 0870 is the latest but I haven’t looked in a while

Yes the four digit trains are the Formentor / Leon ones the three digit ones the lesser cars. Suspect people can't fool Mibsolutions into higher numbers with the firmware locked down as they could mib2.

Obdeleven does report newer firmware that it finds in cars where it's been plugged in. One source where it tells its customers there is newer firmware that it's finding. That is the one that was being fooled with the custom manufactured mib2 high firmware. That door should be closed unless it's been cracked for mib3. Possibly not.

So that's another route if not using official channels to see what others have installed hopefully officially. Dealer system login and it's all there.

Mib Helper is like an AI system trawls what it finds but can be wrong if the sources are not correct or fiddled with.

Whether newer firmware on all parts of the car is required and what works with what is a mute point. If it's not broken etc. That's been the issue before when DIY folk update one part of the system and it doesn't work with another. Think that's occurred with officially released updates. People using Mibsolution.one files on mib3 firmware can get this. Pack of cards carefully standing. Dislodge it for mib3 and you get an issue.

The hardware is different between the platforms, it isn't just different software

It's the software that's isn't :ROFLMAO:. 5 years time the hardware will be different and hopefully the programmers will be better at writing code.... saying that Windows 24h2 has it's problems. It's the small scale nature of the market for these car systems. Why the hardware costs a fortune since it's not mass market.

The latest version is 0883. I received it today by OTA (just after service at my Seat dealer, don’t know if they forced the OTA)
