ok cheers olly20vt i will have a look at it when i get my car back, i only asked as when i went to fit it the bar seemed to wide and was catching on the plastic shelids for a wire, abs wire?, that runs on the rear beam!
some slight touching of the plastic cover is normal.
remembering the rear arb you are fitting is mk2 golf, hence wider than the polo/ibiza rear beam, hence also the drop link brkts to adapt to suit.
adjust the drop link lengths as req'd
not sure what make it was but ive seen a front arb on a beeza using rose joint and re-used the holes in the wishbone from the old mounts.
thats how i remember it anyway
it would be hard work wouldn't it as you've got to drill and tap the end of the bar to recieve the rose joint, not to mention cutting the bar down so that it all lines up correctly?
wouldn't it be easier to but a neuspeed one instead?
this is all based on my little knowledge so it may be wrong!
the bracket is only a flat bit of bar bent in a 'U' shape with a bolt welded on to it(looks like it to me anyway). i'm sure you would be able to knock something up that would be suitable and stand up to a bit of punishment!!
just a note for you guys contemplating fitting... adjust the arb links on even ground so no preload is req'd to make the bolts go in, as this effectively builds in assymetric tension which will effect spring rate on that corner. same goes for both ends. take a little time but wrth doing right, dont rush it and flex things to get the bolt to align.
regards
bill
cheers bill i will keep it in mind, when you say ''adjust the arb links on even ground so no preload is req'd to make the bolts go in'' do you mean adjust and fit when the car is on the ground or can it be jacked up evenly?

your welcome.. when I set up my ibiza for corner weights etc, I undo arb drop links as they have an effect, and have always spent tiome making sure it lines up perfectly, no matter how tempting it is to just "flex" the bar to get the bolt in.. (you've just added preload)
when its sat on the deck under full normal compression then things can be aligned properly.
same goes for front and rear adjustable drop link bars
Any idea where i can get the rod end bearings from bill? Everywhere i've looked theyre about 10 quid for each part, so i'm lookin at ~£50 for a set of two.
