Smoking and overboosting

I noticed my car smoking under acceleration this morning

It is also over-boosting peaking about 12psi only used to go to 9 or 10 psi

Its also a bit smelly

has anyone got any ideas?

Could it have 2 much oil in it?

Tried search but cant put my finger on it

what colour of smoke? does it smell like oily smoke? does it happen on over run or just when the turbo is just about to come on boost?

Too much oil is a possible cause.

If you can smell a 'rotten egg' smell, then you may find its your catalytic converter.

Over filling the oil can damage this, and even destroy it.

it is a white smoke

my first suspitions were cat- it is a kinda eggy smell

just booked it in SEAT for 30k service and check up

does smoke all the time- intermittent really

would cat/too much oil cause over boosting?

how much are new cats?

Why does every car I have ever owned go wrong!!

white smoke under boost = turbo on the way out. Usually the turbo bearings, so oil is leaking into the turbo exhaust housing.

i have my k03 turbo in the loft, let me know if you need a new one mate

took it to seat didnt find antyhing wrong and it isnt doing it now. only done 30k????

white smoke oil? usually blue oil, white is water/headgasket type fume

checked oil and water levels?
