How much have you looked into this i.e cost and routing the pipework to prevent fouling on the front bumper.

hacksaw, and some patience would do the trick.

hacksaw and no patience will give you something like this:

But this is why I suggested fitting the forge FMIC.

If I were to use my own non oem pipework, do you think that I could route the pipework better to prevent this problem?

I know somebody who has lots of experience with stuff like this so this isn't a problem.
The cupra D IC is much cheaper and bigger then the Forge one and is more OEM.

Ummm would like to buy these pipes if you get it to fit inside the standard bumper

Hehe - I had to take a stanley knife to much of my offside front bumper too due to the inlet pipe for the FMIC. Found a stanley knife much more accurate and less brutal than a hacksaw which could only go in a straight line. Stanley had a degree of flexibility.

If there needs to be some cutting then it's the way it shall be

It'll be cheaper then a Forge anyway (and bigger )
