For thoese guys who have mapped thier 130s, Are you seeing any problems with temps on these engines, which I'm assuming are now around 175-185bhp, with just the SMIC. Again I'm assuming you havent all got the FMIC.

No problems with temperature, when i first had my remap done, it kept going into limp mode due to the car producing more boost than what was requested so i had the map altered slightly and its been perfect since

no problems as yet probably due to the extra chilly air at the moment, just pure consistent power from 1600 to near 5000. i'm sure come near the summer i might start to see the smic causing problems.

i saw 90 degree inlet charge on a 130 tdi on a standard map , hate to imagine wat it would be like in summer , surely a FMIC is worth it for reliability sake alone

What about sourcing a FMIC from a PD150 Golf? Mine is doing a fine job of cooling according to Jabba, they said its not far off big aftermarket jobbies!

the golf PD150 ones tend to have 'cracking' on the end tanks, and won't last that long......

Do you have a plot to prove your 175bhp mate?

TBH, no i haven't, its just what i got told when it was remapped, although when i had my exhaust fitted they changed the map slightly due to overboosting,

for all i know at the moment it could be 160 or 180???

i won't know for sure untill JBS have their rollers up and running

your ibiza stats say its as fast as mine in fact your 1/4 mile time is the same i ran at the pod (damp) so really you should have 195-200bhp!

and in the summer with SMIC your power will drop considerbly!

I logged the intake temps on mine once, whilst giving it full beans up a long steep hill.

Intake temps shot up pretty damn quick, around 90+degC :(

Thanks I will keep an eye out for that...I did have to get Samco hoses for the Intercooler as it kept blowing the standard ones off!!
