I like mine. Dont really understand how people get so angry with them. You can't exactly see them apart from reflections.

thats the thing, you cant see them, but others on the road cant miss them.

Lets say you are turning left at a roundabout, waiting for traffic.
Im waiting or queing the enter the same roundabout but at the next junction and guess what, im looking right and some d1ck has his fogs on, cough i mean 1 fog on.

i can't use that because it tells me that i have to post at least 15 posts to be able to post pictures and urls...

Go say hi to a few people in the intro forum, or post a few replies in the off topic section. Your post count will soon get to the 15 mark ;)

Cornering lights

I quite like them,as I live in the wilds of Yokshire with loads of roads with bends. Not new idea,Citreon had them years ago

I don't really care whether they are on or not. I often find them quite useful especially when pulling up next to a kerb or in to a lay-by.

As for the argument of looking like an idiot with your fog lights on, it's not the case that you are purposely doing it 100% of the time.

From another drivers poitn of view I find them quite annoying, almost off putting. White Ibiza in Bedford coming round the roudabout, with foglight on (or turning lights). Looks weirds and causes a double take.

You might as well get used to them - all VAG cars from 2010 have this function, and I believe that Mercs also have it. It may be that, with DRLs becoming law on all new cars next year, this will also become a common, standard feature.

I could not care less about them! All I have read tonight on here is people whining! I blooming love my Ibiza! All cars have little niggles. It could be worse...you could drive around in a crappy little red Kia Picanto like the lad over the road from me! Now that is crap!

I personally don't see what's so bad about them, granted they're not too much help, but they don't look as terrible as some people are making out?

Why is a person a d1ck for having a perfectly legal feature on while using their car?!

I can see mine when coming into the village, handy seeing my turning as nothing is lit around here.

I really need to switch mine off.I am sick of people flashing me full beam (especially busses!) as I approach them on a bend. Please tell me which fuse I need to pull to disable it.

LOL! why are so many people getting worked up about it, so silly.

I already said before that technology is changing.

Let me start off

The old shape Merc E-class use to have these corning lights feature on their fog lamps but now the new E-class has them built into the headlamp unit itself, which of course they replace the fog lamps with DRLs. If VW spent more time doing R&D in their headlamp technology I'm sure Seat would of use it but of course VW didn't they decided to use the fog lamps as corning lights, so Seat decided to use them.

TBH Fog lights output is near enough to be DRL light output but of course Fog lights are more wide spread and pointed at the floor, with DRL light output is more narrow and focus and pointed straight forward to get on coming traffic attention (which i think is pretty glarey than fog lights).

I'm sure the facelift model of the Ibiza will have the corning light built into the headlamp unit and replace the fogs with DRLs (same as the Fabia VRS).

I never had any problems with my corning lights from other traffic nor the police, I normally try and see if i get stopped by the police but it has never happen to me. I guess the police where i live is more up-to-date with car technology. :)

Haha i find it quite amusing how people get so wound up about it. I've had no one flash me.

Same here, i've only ever had two comments, one from girly telling me i shuoldn't moan that others have their foglights on when i have mine on. a quick turn of the wheel shut her up.
and my mate helpfully told me i had a bulb gone.

It's much better implemented on our ibizas than on, say, the old merc's, i saw one the other day and it was halfway down the road til the fog went off.
