Side skirts

Anyone here have any experience with installing side skirts on their Leon? Got some to install with self tapping screws but no matter what screws I use it just doesn’t seem to drill through the underside of the car, it’s a weird material feels a little like rubber yet no screws go through. Anyone tried fitting side skirts? Wld appreciate some help

Are you fitting the official ones? Because they come with clips that you use to fit, not self tapping screws.

Sorry should’ve clarified, trying to fit side skirts extensions i bought from eBay, it came with screws to drill through the bottom of the car

If they are just cheapo self tappers, probably best to drill a small pilot hole slightly smaller than the screw, then the screws will cut a thread in easier.
