Hi All,

New member here, hoping you'll can help me. I know this is about a Toledo, but this issue would be the same on a leon, hoping some nice leon owner can help me.

My Toledos been playing me up a bit over the last few days. Before that it's been fine a really rock solid car but i have 2 - issues.

1. Whenever i brake (ie. push in the brake pedal) my curb-side (nearside?) sidelight comes on. Weird huh? I have no idea how the two are in any way connected. I guess somewhere there is a short, can anyone out there advise me where these lines may pass so i can check for issues (or any guidance at all?)

2.Recently the coil light has been flashing at me. This happened a few months ago and i found it was due to my brakes being out due to faulty brake-light switch. I replaced it, all went away. A couple of days ago 5 mins into a journey it started flashing again, the brakes and lights are fine though. This happened a few journeys, then anouther journey it came on after ignition was switched out, 10 seconds later it went and i havent seen it since.

I don't want to take a working car to a garage cus they will screw me, so anyone got any ideas? It's been fine for 5 days now.

I have no idea what to do, if anyone has a solution to my wnking car please let me know.

Thanks

Daz

It's probably a busted brake light bulb.... there are two filaments, one for lights, and another for when you press the brake.

If they break somehow and the two touch, whenever you brake it completes the circuit for your lights as well..... I know I had this problem in an old Astra....may not be in your case but worth checking....
