I spoke to the guys at top gear (powerflow experts) and they were willing to do a custom cage if you said what you was after, was around £300 i think

Do mk2 golf's cages not fit?

I doubt it, the Biza's got more in common with the 6N Polo than the Mk2 Golf,

It might be worth tracking down Les Hick's number if you're after a phat cage, he produces the stunning items that are often seen in show spec Mk2 Golfs...

alternatively try these guys AAT they sell Weichers cages who do some nice polished ally cages and claim to sell an Ibiza fitment

i think a rear cage would be pretty cool.........you cant really carry anyone in the back anyway cuz theres no room so at least you wouldnt be losing space.

Les Hicks quoted about £900 for one over the phone but when my mate went down to see him he didn't want to do one for the ibizaa.

£900?? Thats ridiculous!! With a bit of thought, and if it was only for show, you could design and build it yourself and have it chromed or powder coated for less than half that!!

ive been offered a les hicks mk2 cage and the guy says it fits in an ibiza

The rear MK2 Golf Les Hicks cage I had was fairly basic, you could establish if it would fit with a tape measure.

You may well need to get someone to make up some new feet/brackets to fix to the car though.

I sold the cage to Westec for a project, last I saw it was sat on a shelf above the workshop, if anyone is after a light aluminium polished cage.

i reckon it would be easy to make.......with the right materials and a bit of time you could fabricate it and assemble it in the car to save you having to rip out the whole interior.

Hey Guys,

I'm very against having a 'show cage' in any car... if you're going to do it, then do it properly as they say! http://www.seatcupra.net/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=1514

However, I do still have the rear part of a 6 point custom cages cage that was in a Cordoba/Ibiza... see this pic http://www.seatcupra.net/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=1512

I'm doing nothing with it, it'd need a lick of paint but you can mount it by drilling the turrets and using large enough washers/plates rather than welding plates in if you're only wanting it for looks.
If anyone's interested drop me an email [email protected] £65 to anyone that picks it up. It's in Daventry at the moment!
