Dont know if it helps, but to give you a ball park cost, my local bodyshop is charging me £200 to paint the bonnet and wings blend, with me supplying the paint, and to fit a spray the side skirts for £180, its a Leon but costs shouldnt be too different for your Ibiza
HTH

Nice one! Thank you for that it does help

I think i will just get my front end resprayed to be honest as the rest of the car is not that bad and i dont think ill be able to save up over £1000 for a long time to get a full respray, ill have to wait i think

TBH touching in black is actually quite effective, with regards to the side skirts, if they are "orange peel" then its just down to a lazy sprayer. Get some 2000 (or finer if you are scared) grit wet & dry, loads of water and flat it down, you will see how far you have to go because when you rub it and wipe away the water you will see shiney pits, keep going until they are almost gone then get some farecla G6 and loads of water and rub it over, you will see the shine come up after a few goes, then use your favorite wax

Sorted, and saved ££££'s

Do not go to far with the paper! (thats why I said almost all the texture should be gone) and let it soak for a while in water first, also put water where you are sanding too, hope this helps

Just wondered if you decided to get a respray in the end....on bonnet or sides etc too? As my my car is black too and covered in chips mainly on bonnet and wondering if its worth doing and at what price/quality of finsihed work?

I think on a scale, mine is 12?

This was after I polished it. The bumper is worse than the bonnet, but I even have stone chips on the side. I guess that is what I get for driving it over 100K on motorways.

Looks good.
Did it cost much?

I think I may need to get it polished professionally -as I think my car has soft paint -it chipped far too easily within 3 months of new -Seat dealership were helpful but SEAT UK just said it's not faulty without even looking at the car! and now the only way to persue this is to get an independant inspection which will cost me £100 just to give the result to SEAT as they wont send anyone out at their expense. So I may as well spend money getting it rectified myself plus I have added some minor bumper scrapes too!

That is what my front bumper is like and my bonnet and wings have loads of them but i wont get it resprayed until i have done the other things i want to do, i will just look after it as best i can until i get it resprayed

Bu55er, mines starting to look like that too and i've only had it three months. Was gonna get the dealer to look at it but it seems that 's pretty common. Just gonna have to sit 1/4 mile from the car in front i guess. Ar5e.:censored: :censored: :censored: :censored:
